@yenneferofvengerbergg Look, Darling, maybe this will help you understand the importance of the matter.

IMPORTANT NOTE: the app link in the article is for the California one.

Thereโ€™s one for every state.

(From the looks of it, I havenโ€™t looked to see if thereโ€™s 50 apps.)

image

[Edit: nope. Thereโ€™s not one for every state.]

States with apps: California, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Michigan, North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, New Jersey, Colorado, Missouri, Minnesota, Arizona, Maryland, Oklahoma, Mississippi, New Mexico, DC, Nebraska

Reblogging because itโ€™s still a greaaaat idea.

Iโ€™m not in a state with one but boosting this anyways

My 👁 opened when I realized so many discourses around healing and empowerment and getting your life together are based in how well you are contributing to capitalism. So many of you are self-proclaimed communists but can’t seem to investigate why you perceive the fulfillment of the self as contingent upon the labor you produce.

Are you healing and loving yourself or are you just better serving capitalism and is the reason you allow your self love and healing dependent on how well you are serving capitalism? 🤔Just some things to investigate!

Fundamentally this is one of the biggest flaws of recovery discourse

yes!! and this is by design. like, self-care discourse stems specifically from woc discussing how to take care of each other when fighting oppression but has been co-opted by capitalists which has two effects: 1. helps sell their products 2. dismantle the structure of care that makes fighting capitalism/neoliberalism/oppression easier.

what many are recovering from are the harms brought on by capitalistic structures - so how does capitalism respond? make recovery all about participating in these structures.

many activists are talking about moving away from the notion of “self-care” and instead toward ideas like “community care” to take the focus away from the individual & capital and instead looking toward healing within community. this is a good/quick read about this if you’re interested.

they literally showed up without face masks, some of them even saying their full names, and the fbi can’t find out who they are? they aren’t even trying.
